Algoma Central Corporation Unveils $160 Million Fleet Expansion Initiative
Algoma Central Corporation, known for its strong maritime presence, has made a significant move by investing $160 million to enhance its fleet. The company has procured the Gypsum Integrity, a self-unloading ocean-class vessel built in 2009, from Gypsum Transportation Limited. The vessel will be rebranded as the Algoma Integrity. Furthermore, Algoma has entered into a contract with a Uljanik d.d. subsidiary based in Croatia for the construction of two new Equinox Class 650-foot self-unloading dry bulk lake freighters. These contracts are dependent on the shipyard’s provision of acceptable security for the required construction installments. This strategic investment is aimed at bolstering Algoma's operational capabilities and fleet efficiency.
