In response to the spill, several waterways within the harbor were closed until the evening of February 22, while a fleet of five boats was mobilized to manage the situation. Crews successfully retrieved around 95 percent of the spilled oil, demonstrating effective containment measures. The root cause of the spill is currently under investigation by the Coast Guard, in collaboration with state wildlife officials and local port authorities.
