On October 15, 2023, the Port Authority of Corfu received an alert from the captain of the ferry 'Alkinoos' regarding a mechanical issue just before its scheduled departure. The vessel was set to transport 185 passengers, alongside 34 cars, 9 commercial vehicles, three buses, and two motorcycles to Igoumenitsa. Consequently, the Central Port Authority of Corfu halted the ferry's departure until the necessary repairs were completed and a class maintenance certificate was provided by the relevant classification society. In the evening, the affected passengers and their vehicles were successfully rerouted to their destination aboard the ferry 'Kerkyra Express.'
