In a significant fleet expansion, Stena Bulk has recently bolstered its presence in the Sonangol Suezmax pool through the addition of six Suezmax tankers over the past six months. The newly incorporated vessels include the SKS SKEENA, ISTANBUL, ALMI GALAXY, ALMI VOYAGER, and ALMI SKY, featuring a diverse range of modern tonnage options. Erik Hånell, President & CEO of Stena Bulk, stated, "In a generally stable yet challenging market, we've identified opportunities to leverage our business model effectively. Given our successful commercial management, we're optimistic that even amid tough conditions, we can make a positive impact, which is why we have chartered in these six new vessels." With this move, Stena Bulk aims to grow its fleet size to around 30 Suezmax tankers, collaborating with partners and utilizing chartered tonnage. Since its inception in 2005, the Stena Sonangol Suezmax pool has thrived, currently managing approximately 25 high-quality Suezmax tankers, and continues to assess market conditions strategically.
