In a somber turn of events, a crew member aboard the vessel 'Ameland' tragically fell overboard in Westdorpe on the evening of March 30, 2023. Emergency response teams, including divers from the local fire service, were dispatched to the scene and successfully retrieved the individual from the water. Unfortunately, despite their rapid response, efforts to revive the crew member were unsuccessful. The body was subsequently transported to the shore using a cherry picker. Authorities have not yet determined the circumstances leading to the fall and are currently in discussions with the labor inspectorate to initiate a thorough investigation.
