What Crew Members Say About Angara

On June 25, 2022, the cargo vessel 'Angara', transporting 570 pre-owned vehicles, experienced a significant fire while navigating the Japan Sea, approximately 55 nautical miles north of Toyama, Honshu, located at coordinates 37°35'00" N, 136°44'00" E. The blaze is suspected to have originated from a car situated on the vehicle cargo deck. Having departed from Fushikitoyama the previous day, June 24, the 'Angara' was en route to Vladivostok. Fortunately, all 25 crew members from Russia were able to evacuate the ship without any reported injuries or fatalities. In response to the emergency, the Coast Guard mobilized firefighting vessels to tackle the fire and secure the area.
