Vessel 'Anubis' Detained in Antalya Due to Serious Safety Deficiencies
On December 18, 2025, the vessel 'Anubis' faced detention in Antalya after being found with a total of 16 deficiencies during an inspection. Among these, five were classified as critical enough to warrant immediate detention. The serious issues identified included: 1) Failure in Pollution Prevention protocols, specifically related to the management of oil and oily mixtures from machinery spaces due to a lack of familiarity; 2) Inoperative oil filtering equipment; 3) A malfunctioning fire detection and alarm system; 4) Inoperative Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS); and 5) Non-functional rescue boats, jeopardizing the safety of life at sea. Following the necessary rectifications, 'Anubis' was released on December 20. The vessel subsequently departed for Tekirdag to undergo repairs, arriving on December 27 and setting sail again the following day, December 28.
