APL Welcomes Fourth New Vessel, APL Barcelona, to its Fleet
APL, the container shipping division of Singapore's NOL Group, has officially received its latest addition, the APL Barcelona, boasting a capacity of 10,700 TEU. This ship is the fourth in a series of six newbuilds commissioned by NOL between the years 2007 and 2010. Alphaliner reports that the APL Barcelona will serve on the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 7 service, enhancing the company's operational capacity on this key route. Following closely behind, the APL Paris is set to join the fleet just a week later. The final vessel in this series, the APL Dublin, is expected to be delivered this December, completing this significant order with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). Previously, the other four units, constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), were successfully delivered between December 2011 and May 2012.
