Vroon Offshore Services Welcomes VOS Star, Expanding Its Subsea Support Fleet
Vroon Offshore Services proudly announces the delivery of the VOS Star, a state-of-the-art subsea support vessel, from Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China. This significant addition to Vroon's fleet was officially delivered on April 13, 2016. The VOS Star, measuring 68 meters and classified as a DP2, SPS-coded vessel, is the second of two advanced subsea support vessels created by Fujian. Its sister ship, the VOS Sugar, made its debut earlier this year and is set to be named in an upcoming ceremony in IJmuiden, Netherlands. Both vessels boast cutting-edge features including an active heave-compensated crane, a retractable tunnel thruster, and a super-silent bow thruster, all of which enhance dynamic positioning (DP) capabilities, fuel efficiency, and ensure the well-being of crew and clients onboard. Each vessel is equipped with a high-speed communication system, offering reliable internet connectivity and hotel-like comforts to support client operations. The arrival of VOS Star and VOS Sugar signifies Vroon's commitment to expanding its subsea support vessel fleet, providing advanced, efficient, and versatile services across various offshore segments, such as windfarm support, walk-to-work solutions, and inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) tasks.
