ESG Unveils Archie T. Higgins, New Tractor Tug for Bisso Offshore
In late 2015, Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) proudly delivered the Reverse Tractor Tug, Archie T. Higgins, to Bisso Offshore, LLC. The vessel made its way to Louisiana, arriving at the mouth of the Mississippi River, where it immediately began its mission by escorting its inaugural ship northward to the bustling port of New Orleans. The Archie T. Higgins, recognized as ESG Hull #176, marks the fourth delivery of the 96-foot Reverse Tractor Tug design to Bisso Offshore since 2007. All four vessels stem from the same innovative 96-foot Z-drive tug blueprint developed by Jensen Maritime Consultants based in Seattle. The impressive dimensions of the vessel are 96 feet in length, 34 feet in beam, and 14.75 feet in depth. It is equipped with dual Caterpillar 3516C engines, which meet Tier 3 EPA certification standards, collectively generating a powerful 4,260 horsepower.
