On December 13, 2018, the cargo vessel "Arklow Valor" encountered a mishap, sustaining damage to its port side after grounding while departing the port of Drogheda. On November 21, 2017, the modern vessel 'Arklow Valour' experienced a grounding incident in the Odense Canal at approximately 4:15 a.m., effectively halting traffic in the waterway. Having just arrived from Rotterdam to load a sand cargo, the newly launched ship became stuck at Odins Bridge, embedding itself in a sandy bottom. Its position was such that it lay across the fairway, obstructing all maritime movement. After several hours of efforts, the ship was successfully refloated by 10:45 a.m. and was able to dock in Odense by 11 a.m. Following this, the 'Arklow Valour' made its way to the Severnaya Verf Shipyard in St. Petersburg, where it arrived at 4:30 p.m. on November 26. After undergoing repairs, the ship departed the yard on November 28 at 5:30 p.m., setting course for Sevilla, with an estimated time of arrival on December 8.
