Collision Incident at Kitakyushu Port Involves Multiple Vessels
On June 9, 2018, a maritime incident unfolded in Kitakyushu when the cargo vessel m/v 'Safe Way' collided with two other vessels: the 'Hayate' and m/v 'Kaihou Maru', while attempting to berth at approximately 1:30 PM. This unfortunate event resulted in damage to the forecastle deck of the 'Safe Way'. Following the collision, the Japanese Coast Guard conducted investigations, and the 'Safe Way' made its way to Tobata, arriving late in the night on June 10 at 11:53 PM. The 'Hayate' reached Yawata shortly after, docking at 4:17 AM on the same day. Meanwhile, the 'Kaihou Maru' set sail towards Nagoya the following morning, leaving at 8:00 AM on June 11.
