On December 9, 2017, the Maritime Search and Rescue Center in Vietnam successfully conducted a medevac operation for a critically injured sailor from the vessel 'Seiyo Honor' located in Vietnamese territorial waters. He Liming, a 30-year-old crew member, experienced a severe fall, plummeting seven meters into a hatch while performing duties on the ship's deck. As a result of the accident, he sustained significant injuries affecting his back and chest. At the time of the incident, the 'Seiyo Honor' was navigating approximately 68 nautical miles southwest of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, en route from Bong Sen Port in Ho Chi Minh City to Port Kelang. As He Liming's condition deteriorated, the ship's captain promptly issued an emergency rescue request to the Maritime Search and Rescue Center. In response, authorities guided the vessel to return to Vung Tau while providing medical first aid instructions. The rescue vessel 'SAR 413' was dispatched with a medical team on board to facilitate the operation. Thanks to the timely medical intervention, the sailor's condition stabilized. Upon reaching Vung Tau, He Liming was promptly transported to France-Vietnam Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for further medical attention and care.
