Incident Report: Ikan Leban Grounds on Paraná River
On December 24, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Ikan Leban' ran aground along the Paraná River at the 309 km mark, located upstream of Obligado. The vessel was navigating downstream with a cargo of maize that had been loaded at San Lorenzo. Following the incident, the 'Ikan Leban' was successfully refloated the next day, December 25, with the aid of tugboats. After being freed, the ship proceeded downstream towards San Pedro, where it anchored for inspections. On December 26, the 'Ikan Leban' remained stationary at coordinates 33° 40.81' S and 059° 37.32' W.
