On December 19, 2018, around noon, an unfortunate incident occurred when a pilot from Aberdeen sustained a leg injury while embarking the cargo ship 'Atlantic' from a pilot boat. This incident took place as the vessel was preparing to enter the busy port of Aberdeen after its journey from Augusta. In response to the emergency, the RNLI lifeboat 'Bon Accord' was promptly launched to assist in the evacuation of the injured pilot. Following the successful berthing of the 'Atlantic', the pilot was safely transferred to an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
