Mar 20, 2023 09:17

On March 17, 2023, the US Coast Guard successfully conducted a medevac operation for a crew member from the tanker 'Atlantic Loyalty', located approximately 32 miles offshore of Corpus Christi, Texas. The emergency began at 1:01 p.m. when the captain of the vessel notified Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders of a serious situation involving a 33-year-old male crew member who was showing stroke-like symptoms. Responding swiftly, watchstanders consulted with a duty flight surgeon, who promptly recommended the medevac. In response, a Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was dispatched to the scene. Additionally, an HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft was deployed to provide essential communication support during the operation. Upon arrival, the helicopter crew hoisted the affected crew member aboard and ensured a safe transfer to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, where he was reported to be in stable condition following the emergency. Euronav Finalizes Strategic Sale and Leaseback of Four VLCC Vessels

Jan 06, 2017 00:35

Euronav has successfully secured a strategic five-year sale and leaseback deal involving four Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with investment vehicles guided by Wafra Capital Partners, a private equity firm supported by Kuwaiti capital. The vessels included in this transaction are the Nautilus (2006), Navarin (2007), Neptun (2007), and Nucleus (2007). The total en-bloc purchase price for this significant deal amounts to $186 million, resulting in a capital gain of approximately $37 million for the prominent Belgian tanker operator. After settling existing debts, this transaction is set to generate over $100 million in free cash. The delivery of the vessels to Wafra Capital Partners’ investment entities took place on December 22. Following the sale, Euronav has leased back the four ships, constructed by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC), under a bareboat charter agreement that spans five years. The vessels will be leased at an average daily rate of $22,000 each, with plans for their redelivery to the new owners upon the contract's completion.
