In a swift rescue operation on June 4, 2024, a crew member aboard the bulk carrier 'Atlantis Augusta' required urgent medical assistance near Terneuzen. Responding promptly, the lifeboats 'Zeemanshoop' from the KNRM station in Breskens and 'Jan van Engelenburg' from the KNRM station in Hansweert were deployed to the scene. The situation intensified as the Coast Guard’s SAR Helicopter 08, which was already nearby, was called for further assistance. The helicopter successfully airlifted the ailing crew member and transported him to a medical facility in Terneuzen. Meanwhile, the 'Zeemanshoop,' alongside Rijkswaterstaat's patrol boat 'RWS 78' and the 'Patrol' vessel from Multraship, remained on standby until the crew member was safely on board the helicopter.
