World Wide Supply, a company listed in Oslo, has officially decided to lay up two of its platform supply vessels (PSVs), the World Diamond and World Pearl, in response to the ongoing challenges in the offshore spot market. Currently operating in the North Sea, these vessels had previously been contracted with GdF for several years, specifically from December 2013. As a result of this decision, approximately 48 crew members will receive termination notices. World Wide Supply boasts a fleet of six identical PSVs, all constructed by Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands. These vessels were commissioned in 2011 and delivered in 2013, highlighting the company's commitment to maintaining a strong offshore presence despite current market difficulties.

Damen Shipyards Galati proudly announced the successful delivery of the World Diamond, marking the first of six state-of-the-art Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) commissioned by Norwegian offshore company World Wide Supply. The World Diamond is crafted based on a groundbreaking Damen design, setting new benchmarks in the industry. The christening ceremony took place on June 28th, attended by an esteemed gathering of 150 guests and led by godmother Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Margarita of Romania. Arnout Damen expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "The delivery of this inaugural PSV 3300 signifies the dawn of a new chapter in Damen's ongoing offshore supply vessel saga." He further highlighted the collaborative nature of the project, where Damen utilized expertise from within its network and collaborated with the client along with top-tier research institutes and subcontractors. The result is a first-class vessel that is designed, constructed, and equipped to meet European standards for a truly distinguished worldwide clientele.
