Fleet manager Guillermo Alomar remarked, 'Investing in this technology will greatly benefit the company, as LNG entails lower maintenance costs and offers a favorable price differential compared to diesel.' Furthermore, Baleària's transition to LNG aligns with its commitment to environmental sustainability, as the utilization of natural gas is projected to decrease CO2 emissions by 25%, while also significantly reducing or eliminating other harmful pollutants. Over the next five years, the company plans to retrofit four out of its nine high-speed vessels, including the Avemar Dos, Jaume II, and Jaume III, marking a substantial step toward a greener fleet.
