Azov-Confidence Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

A devastating incident occurred on November 2, 2022, when a fire erupted on the cargo ship Yzov Confidenze at approximately 11 p.m. The vessel, en route from Samsun to Novorossiysk, was located at coordinates 41° 26' 00'' N and 36° 34' 00'' E at the time of the fire. Sadly, a 43-year-old Ukrainian engineer sustained injuries while attempting to combat the flames and tragically fell overboard into the sea. Despite efforts by Turkish search and rescue patrol boats, the operation did not succeed in locating him. The fire was extinguished by midnight, and the Yzov Confidenze returned to Samsun, anchoring at position 41° 19.59' N and 036° 22.05' E. As of November 6, the vessel remained stationary at this location. In the wake of this incident, investigations have been launched by both the Harbour Master’s technical team and the Public Prosecutor’s office. Marine surveyors have also boarded the ship to ascertain the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damages. As investigations unfold, the ship's departure permission has been revoked until further notice.
