Urgent Medevac Operations Near Ushant for Poisoned Sailor

A 55-year-old Polish sailor aboard the vessel 'Azuryth' had experienced an incident involving hazardous chemicals. This emergency was located approximately 38 nautical miles northwest of Ushant. After a thorough consultation between the Maritime Medical Coordination team in Finistère and the crew of the 'Azuryth', the decision was made to transport the injured sailor to La Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest for urgent medical attention. French Authorities Detain Tanker Over Pollution Suspicions Near Le Havre
On January 15, 2014, a routine surveillance operation by a French customs helicopter uncovered a pollution incident as it observed discharge from the vessel 'Deniz S' while it was navigating the waters approximately seven nautical miles off the coast of Le Havre. The tanker, which was traveling from the Jérôme Port in Le Havre to Ghent, triggered immediate concern. Upon detecting the suspected pollution, the helicopter promptly notified the CROSS Joburg. Acting quickly on the strong evidence of environmental damage, the CROSS Joburg reached out to the Havre prosecutor's office. In response, the maritime prefecture of the English Channel and North Sea ordered the vessel to be redirected towards Dunkirk. Following these directives, the customs vessel 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' was dispatched to provide escort for the tanker. The 'Deniz S' safely docked at Dunkirk port at 4 a.m. on January 16, where authorities could further investigate the situation.
