The Baie Comeau, the last vessel from the Trillium Class series, was officially delivered to Canada Steamship Lines (CSL) on June 20, 2013. Following a celebratory handover, the ship embarked on her inaugural journey on June 30 from Chengxi Shipyard in Jiangyin, China, setting sail precisely at 11:48 CST. This state-of-the-art self-unloading Laker is on a scheduled route to Montreal, Quebec, where she will serve the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway. The vessel will be under the experienced command of Captain Andriy Bondarenko and Chief Engineer Francis Cotton during her transoceanic passage, which is expected to take around 50 to 60 days. Upon her arrival in Montreal in early September, Baie Comeau will reunite with CSL's impressive fleet, joining her sister vessels: Thunder Bay, Whitefish Bay, and the award-winning Baie St. Paul.
