On May 1, 2019, at the break of dawn, the vessel "Thalassa Elpida", which was navigating from Zeebrugge, suffered an allision with its starboard side against a quay in Piraeus, near Keratsini port. Although the collision resulted in damage to the hull, there were no reported injuries or signs of marine pollution. Following the incident, the port authority took precautionary measures by detaining the ship until the required classification certificate was provided by the attending classification society. A preliminary inspection was subsequently conducted by the relevant port authority to assess the situation.
