AHTS Bear Faces Propulsion Issues Near Maassluis
On May 28, 2019, the anchor handling tug supply vessel 'Bear' experienced significant propulsion difficulties while departing Rotterdam. In response to these issues, the vessel anchored just off Maassluis, specifically in front of the Furie building within the Het Scheur channel. To provide assistance, two tugs operated by Kotug Smit, namely 'SD Jacoba' and 'Fairplay 24', were dispatched. They successfully helped the 'Bear' navigate to the Wilhelmina Harbour for repairs. After overcoming the mechanical setbacks, the vessel finally departed Rotterdam on June 1 at 8:40 a.m., setting its course towards the North Sea.
