On January 13, 2020, the freight vessel 'Beaumont', travelling from Brest to Southampton, UK, encountered a mechanical issue mid-journey. The vessel's engine experienced complications stemming from a loose bolt on the exhaust manifold cylinder while navigating the coordinates 50° 54' 48" N, 1° 24' 54" W. Despite a failed attempt at repairs, the ship's captain opted to proceed at reduced speed to maintain progress towards its destination. Meanwhile, the Solent Coastguard kept a close eye on the situation. The 'Beaumont' successfully docked at Southampton's bulk terminal at 6 a.m., delivering an impressive cargo of 3,000 tons of scrap.

On September 7, 2017, the freighter Baumont encountered engine failure while navigating through the Dardanelles in a northern direction at approximately 08:30 a.m., near the vicinity of Kepez. Swift response teams dispatched a tugboat to aid the stricken vessel, which was subsequently escorted to Karanlik Liman. There, the Baumont was anchored off Guzelyali to facilitate necessary repairs. At the time of the incident, the freighter was journeying from Brake to Constanta, highlighting the intricacies and challenges of maritime navigation in this vital waterway.

The vessel 'Beaumont' experienced a significant ordeal when it grounded near Avilés for ten hours before being rescued on December 12, 2012. The tug 'Maria de Maeztu' was able to pull the ship off the rocks, after which it continued its journey to port under its own power, covering the two-mile distance to dock at a pier west of San Augustine by 4 p.m. Fortunately, divers inspected the hull and reported only minor damage, with a dent found on the starboard side of the foreship. Remarkably, there were no oil spills reported despite a leak that was traced back to a punctured ballast tank. The 'Beaumont', which was set to load 3,500 tons of wood pellets, had passed through the estuary of Avilés unexpectedly at a speed of 11.5 knots without altering its course, possibly due to its autopilot system. Curiously, the crew failed to issue a distress call before or after the grounding. It wasn't until 4:15 a.m. that the Maritime Rescue Centre in Gijón observed the vessel’s off-course status through its AIS system and initiated contact, leading the crew to finally confirm the incident. Immediate action was taken with the mobilization of rescue helicopter Helimer 203, the tug 'Maria de Maeztu', and the rapid intervention vessel 'Salvamar Rigel', along with support from the strategic base for rescue and pollution control in Santander and divers from La Coruña. Members of the Civil Guard, Red Cross, Gozón Police, Civil Protection, and the Harbour Master were also present. At noon, the Territorial Contingency Plan for Accidental Marine Pollution (Placampa) was activated. High tide conditions helped facilitate the salvage, which was planned for around 3 p.m. Prior to the maneuver, the 'Maria de Maeztu' was already connected to the stern of the 'Beaumont', which pumped out ballast water to assist the operation. The ship successfully slid off the rocks at 1 p.m. and was set to be inspected for further damage at the Alvargonzález Shipyard, with an expected arrival there on December 13. In the wake of the grounding, both Spanish and British maritime authorities have begun investigations to understand the circumstances leading to the incident. Thankfully, the captain and five crew members on board reported no injuries during this challenging event.
