On November 27, 2018, at 12:30 p.m., the merchant vessel 'Beautrader', while navigating from Ipswich to Georgetown, encountered a critical issue. The ship experienced a major engine failure, resulting in a complete loss of propulsion at coordinates 51°53'26" N and 001°33'33" E in the North Sea. In response to the emergency, the vessel was offered the assistance of four tugs to facilitate its safe recovery. By November 28, the 'Beautrader' was under the tow of the tug 'MTS Vanquish' (IMO: 9559573). The following day, on November 29 at 10:30 p.m., the Dutch tug 'En Avant 30' (IMO: 9597317) departed from Rotterdam and took over the tow, directing the ship towards Amsterdam. Upon arrival in IJmuiden, the journey was further supported by Port Towage Amsterdam tugs, namely 'Triton' and 'Saturnus'. The 'Beautrader' successfully reached Shipdock in Amsterdam on November 30 at 7 p.m. for essential repairs. After completing the necessary maintenance, the vessel set sail again on December 12, with an estimated arrival date in Georgetown set for December 27.
