Berge Tateyama Successfully Refloated on Paraná River
The bulk carrier 'Berge Tateyama' has been successfully refloated after running aground on the Paraná River at kilometer 312.5 while traveling from San Lorenzo on June 15. This operation was made possible with the expert assistance of four tugs: 'Brutus,' 'Ranquel,' 'Svitzar Mora,' and 'Argentino I.' The refloating occurred on June 20 at 5:30 p.m. Just hours later, at 12:30 a.m. on June 21, navigation was reinstated for marine traffic, although the maximum draft in the affected area has been adjusted to 9.45 meters. A dedicated dredger is currently working to enhance the draft conditions in the vicinity, ensuring safer passage for vessels moving along this vital shipping route.
