Wan Hai Lines, based in Singapore, has successfully signed a time charter deal with Diana Containerships Inc. for the mv 'Hamburg', a 6,494 TEU capacity containership originally constructed in 2009. The agreement entails a gross charter rate of $11,000 per day, with a deduction of a 3.75% commission payable to third-party entities. This charter is set for a minimum duration of 120 days, extending up to a maximum of 220 days, and officially commenced on December 1. Over this minimum charter period, gross revenue is projected to reach approximately $1.32 million, as reported by MarineLink.com. Previously, the 'Hamburg' was under charter to CMA CGM, commanding a rate of $6,700 per day, less a 3.5% commission to third parties. Diana Containerships Inc. currently operates a fleet that includes six post-Panamax and five Panamax vessels.

This acquisition, executed through a fully-owned subsidiary, involves a Post-Panamax container vessel with a capacity of around 6,500 TEU, built in 2009. The deal, which was initiated back in July 2015, has now come to fruition. Currently, the m/v Hamburg is under a charter agreement with MSC-Mediterranean Shipping Co. S.A. in Geneva, generating a net charter rate of US$14,000 per day. Under the terms of the existing charter party, MSC reserves the right to redeliver the vessel at any point from January 13, 2016, to March 13, 2016, providing flexibility for both parties.
