The Bg-Ruby: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

A tragic incident unfolded on February 20, 2023, as the Northern Ireland Police launched an investigation into the untimely death of a crew member from the vessel 'BG Ruby.' The incident occurred at 11 p.m. local time when the crew member fell overboard while the ship was docked at Belfast Harbour’s Victoria Terminal 3. Emergency medical teams rushed to the scene following a distress call and were able to recover the individual and transport him to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead later that evening. Authorities from the UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) have been deployed to Belfast to carry out an initial examination of the incident. Additionally, the MAIB has notified its Portuguese counterpart about the tragic event. Following the incident, the 'BG Ruby' departed Belfast on February 22, setting sail towards Rotterdam, with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) on February 24.
