On September 15, 2016, a maritime accident occurred in the Punta Indio Channel of the Rio de la Plata when the bulk carrier 'Rich Future' collided with the LPG tanker 'Charlton' around noon. The 'Rich Future' was steadily making its way towards San Lorenzo and was able to continue its journey after the incident. By the afternoon of September 16, the vessel had safely moored in the San Lorenzo anchorage along the Paraná River. In contrast, the 'Charlton', which was en route from Buenos Aires to Dakar, sustained some damage and remained anchored in the Punta Indio Channel post-collision. Fortunately, only one crew member aboard the tanker reported minor injuries.
