On November 3, 2025, the cargo vessel 'Black Sea' faced a temporary detention in Aliaga due to a total of 17 identified deficiencies. Among these, seven were deemed serious enough to warrant such action. Key safety issues included: 1) Navigation safety was compromised with an inoperative echo sounder; 2) Fire safety protocols were breached as means of escape were found blocked; 3) The fixed fire extinguishing installation did not meet required standards; 4) The Ballast Water Management Plan had not been updated, raising pollution prevention concerns; 5) Lifebuoys were inadequate in provision and positioning; 6) Launching arrangements for survival crafts were not satisfactory; and 7) The ISM certificate was not up to date. After addressing these critical issues, the vessel was released on November 7 and set sail for Saraylar, where it arrived on November 8. As of November 13, the 'Black Sea' remained docked in this location.
