Emergency Medical Evacuation Near Punta Europa
On September 13, 2023, an urgent medical evacuation was conducted for a crew member aboard the vessel 'Bouzas,' which was traveling from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Barcelona. The incident occurred approximately 16 nautical miles east of Punta Europa when the crew member experienced seizures. In response to the emergency, the CCS Tarifa of Salvamento MarÃtimo dispatched the SAR helicopter Helimer 211 to the location. The helicopter successfully hoisted the affected individual and transported them to Jerez Airport, where an ambulance was on standby to provide immediate medical attention and transfer the patient to a hospital.
