Urgent Medivac Operation in Heraklion for Captain and Crew Member
On December 25, the Heraklion Port Authority received an urgent report concerning the bulk carrier 'Kazim Dede'. The vessel was enroute to the port to facilitate the emergency disembarkation of its 46-year-old captain and a 29-year-old crew member, both in need of immediate medical attention. In the morning, the rescue vessel 'Eleni' was dispatched to assist, successfully boarding the pair and bringing them to shore. Initially transported by ambulance to the Health Center, they were subsequently moved to the University General Hospital of Heraklion for comprehensive medical evaluations. Following the incident, the 'Kazim Dede' was detained for further investigation.
