On December 18, 2019, the Helimer 401 helicopter, operated by Salvamento Marítimo, conducted a critical medical evacuation. The helicopter was dispatched at 2 p.m. to respond to an emergency involving a crew member aboard the 'Cádiz Knutsen', which was located approximately 60 miles northwest of A Coruña. The rescue took place in challenging conditions, with turbulent seas and wind gusts reaching 48 knots. Following the successful operation, the patient, suspected of having appendicitis, was transported to Coruña airport, where emergency medical personnel were on standby.
