On April 21, 2022, the MV Flecha, while transporting coal from Vanino, collided with the pier of the Yeongheung Power Plant located in Incheon. This incident resulted in a notable four-meter breach just above the waterline of the vessel. The collision inflicted considerable damage to the Power Plant Coal Terminal, compromising critical infrastructure such as the coal conveyor system and its fenders. Extensive repairs are expected to take several months before the pier can be restored to operational status. Investigations have pointed to the ship's Master and the Pilot as key contributors to the mishap, facing accusations of negligent ship control and excessive speed at the time of the accident. Following the allision, the MV Flecha remained docked for repairs and assessments until May 7 and is scheduled to depart for Taboneo, with an estimated time of arrival set for May 16.
