Medical Evacuation Operation Near Terschelling
In the early hours of May 22, 2013, at approximately 04:15 AM, the Coastguard Center in Den Helder received an urgent notification regarding a medical emergency aboard the vessel 'Kurkse.' A crew member had suffered a fall from a staircase while the ship was navigating roughly 20 kilometers north of Terschelling, as it traveled from Emden to Flushing. Swiftly responding to the situation, the Coastguard conducted a conference call involving both the ship and the KNRM (Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution), determining that a medevac was necessary.
