Stena Line Expands North Sea Freight Services with Additional Vessel on Rotterdam to Killingholme Route

Sep 25, 2016 11:47

Stena Line is enhancing its freight capacity on the North Sea by introducing an additional vessel on the busy Rotterdam to Killingholme shipping route. In a recent press release, the company announced the deployment of the RoRo vessel, Caroline Russ, which is set to operate three weekly sailings between Europoort in the Netherlands and Killingholme in the UK. The inaugural voyage of the Caroline Russ will take place on October 31, 2016. This new addition will complement the existing RoRo ship, Stena Scotia, resulting in an increased frequency of sailings to a total of six departures per week in both directions. The Stena Scotia has been servicing this route since September 2014 and was initially added to support two other freight vessels, Stena Transit and Stena Transporter, on the Hoek van Holland – Killingholme route. This strategic decision comes in response to the growing demand for freight services in this key maritime corridor.

SC Line Launches New Shipping Route from Port Everglades to Cuba

Sep 26, 2015 07:59

SC Line, a prominent shipping company, has officially inaugurated its service connecting Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades with Cuba, according to recent reports from Sun Sentinel. With the lifting of the requirement for a special license for voyages between the US and Cuba, SC Line is now positioned to enhance trade and transportation to the Caribbean island. The company plans to operate bi-weekly services to the Cuban ports of Mariel and Santiago, following a route that also encompasses Panama and Colombia. On September 20, the SC Line vessel, Caroline Russ, made its inaugural docking at Mariel, marking a significant milestone as it kicks off the new service that will run every 14 days between Port Everglades, Florida, and Cuban ports. 'This new service offered by SC Line is clear evidence of the successful collaboration between both governments in recent months,' the company stated. Notably, Port Everglades has been a hub for shipping to Cuba for years, with Crowley Maritime, a Jacksonville-based line, already operating since 2001, delivering food, humanitarian supplies, and other permitted goods to the island.
