At noon on July 12, the Paros Port Authority received alarming news as a 24-year-old man unexpectedly jumped from the ramp of the 'Champion Jet 2' while it was in the process of departing from Parikia port, located on the island of Paros. The incident occurred when the ramp had just lifted a few feet above the pier. Fortunately, a Port Authority officer quickly intervened and assisted the man, who surprisingly revealed that he was not a passenger aboard the vessel. This incident resulted in the rope striking a two-wheeled vehicle occupied by two passengers, leading to the unfortunate tumble of the vehicle and its operators onto the pier. Swiftly responding to the situation, officials from the Port Authority arrived on the scene. Fortunately, both passengers were found to be in good health, although their vehicle sustained significant damage. Following this, the individuals boarded the 'Champion Jet 2,' which set sail for Milos. Upon arrival at the Milos port, they proceeded to the Milos Health Center for a precautionary medical evaluation and subsequently disembarked without the need for further hospitalization. The Sifnos Port Station has initiated a preliminary investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding this weather-related incident, ensuring safety protocols and preventive measures for future operations.

On the afternoon of August 29, 2022, the Master of the 'Champion Jet 2' reported a significant mechanical issue while navigating from Serifos to Sifnos. The vessel experienced a malfunction involving its port side external main engine. Fortunately, the ship was able to safely reach Sifnos harbor, where it successfully disembarked 92 passengers. In response to this incident, the Port Authority of Sifnos initially prohibited the vessel from sailing again. However, after the crew presented a maintenance certificate and a seaworthiness verification issued by the overseeing classification society, they received clearance to operate with three main engines.
