Panic Averted on the Stricken 'Chang Long' amid Approaching Typhoon
On the night of July 9, 2015, the freighter 'Chang Long' encountered a critical mechanical failure approximately 45 miles off the coast of Chedju do in the Yellow Sea. The vessel, which was navigating from Zhoushan to Incheon, found itself disabled and vulnerable as a typhoon loomed on the horizon. This distressing situation caused panic among the 18-member Chinese crew. Fortunately, the East China Sea Rescue Bureau quickly intervened, providing reassurances through radio communication. To ensure the safety of those on board, salvage vessels were deployed to assist. Remarkably, the 'Chang Long' managed to reach the Lianyungang anchorage on July 10 under its own power, accompanied by the salvage team for added security.
