In a significant transaction, a collection of vessels has been sold as a package for $350 million to Dutch buyers, specifically Ace Tankers. The deal includes the following vessels: Bw Helium, Bw Argon, Bw Cobalt, Bw Boron, Bw Lithium, Bw Silicon, Bw Radon, Bw Iridium, Bw Gallium, Bw Neon, Bw Mercury, and Bw Mia. This acquisition marks a notable expansion for Ace Tankers in the maritime industry.

Stream Tankers AS has officially announced a significant deal in the maritime industry, confirming its agreement with BW Tankers Limited. This strategic partnership will see BW Tankers acquiring a total of ten chemical tankers from Stream, which includes the notable M/T Stream Luna, built in 2010 and weighing 19,999 DWT, and the M/T Stream Mia, constructed in 2008 with a weight of 19,702 DWT. This transaction also encompasses eight newbuilding contracts with Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and Shitanoe Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., set to deliver modern eco-friendly vessels equipped with stainless steel cargo tanks, designed to enhance operational efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. These new 19,900 DWT chemical tankers are slated for delivery between 2015 and 2018. Stream Tankers AS holds ownership under Utkilen AS (60%), EGD Shipholding AS (35%), and BSCO AS (5%). Utkilen AS, based in Bergen, Norway, has a rich history dating back to 1916, operating a fleet of 22 chemical tankers that range from 5,000 to 20,000 DWT. Renowned for its role in transporting chemicals and bulk liquids across Northern Europe, Utkilen is a pivotal player in the sector. EGD Shipholding AS, with ties to over 40 vessels, focuses on shipping and real estate. Its parent company, EGD Holding AS, established in 1907, also has a strong presence in Bergen. The Chairman of Stream Tankers AS and Utkilen AS, Mr. Bjørn Sjaastad, is associated with BSCO AS.
