Working Conditions Aboard the Chicago-Express

On the evening of December 14, 2018, a 20-year-old crew member aboard the 'Chicago Express' required urgent medical assistance. The vessel, which was en route from Genoa to Damietta, found itself near Kallonis when the situation escalated. A Greek patrol boat swiftly responded to the emergency, facilitating the evacuation of the injured sailor who had sustained a fracture in his lower limb. After his initial treatment at the First Aid Center, the crew member was transported to Venizelio Hospital in Heraklion for further care, where he continues to receive medical attention.
