The 'Maersk Nashville' (IMO: 9304760), which faced allegations of importing toxic waste into Nigeria, has received authorization to return to the Netherlands, the ship’s point of origin. Following an investigation by the Federal Government, it was determined that the contents of one of the vessel's containers did not contain industrial waste as previously thought. Instead, the container held a variety of items, including used refrigerators, air conditioners, heavy-duty industrial batteries, tires, and other miscellaneous goods. As a result, the government ordered the ship to leave Nigerian waters.
