On April 8, 2014, at 3:20 p.m., the CROSS Corsen responded to an urgent medical situation involving a sailor aboard the 'City of Hamburg.' The vessel, which was navigating through waters off Ouessant en route to Hamburg, reported that a 55-year-old Filipino sailor was experiencing severe chest pains. The maritime medical consultation center in Toulouse promptly alerted CROSS Corsen, which took immediate action. A helicopter from the Navy Base Lanvéoc-Poulmic was dispatched to the scene, arriving at 4:15 p.m. The injured sailor was successfully hoisted aboard and transported to Cavale Blanche Hospital in Brest, where he arrived at 5:15 p.m. for further medical care.
