Top Ships Secures $27.4 Million Boost as Stena Bulk Extends Product Tanker Charters
In a significant development for the maritime industry, Top Ships has successfully enhanced its backlog by $27.4 million through an agreement to extend time charter contracts with Stena Bulk for four MR2 product tankers. The vessels, namely Stenaweco Energy and Stenaweco Elegance, have had their charters renewed for an additional 12 months, whilst Stenaweco Evolution and Stenaweco Excellence will continue under charter for 18 months. All four tankers were initially contracted as newbuilds under arrangements of 3+1+1 or 5+1+1, solidifying Top Ships' position in the competitive tanker market.
