Working Conditions Aboard the Cma-Cgm-Amber

Evergreen Line is set to reintroduce its direct service connecting the Far East with the Southern Red Sea through a collaborative effort involving CMA CGM, UASC, and CSCL as part of the REX 3/ARC 2 route. This service had been on hiatus for three years, but is now making a comeback. The updated ARC service will run with seven vessels, shifting from the previous capacity of 6,000-7,000 TEU to smaller ships with a capacity of 4,250 TEU. The service cycle spans 49 days, with stops at key ports including Xiamen, Shenzhen-Yantian, Shenzhen-Shekou, Port Kelang, Djibouti, Jeddah, and Port Sudan, before returning to Xiamen. The inaugural voyage from Xiamen took place on July 24, using the 4,404-TEU CMA CGM Amber, as reported by Alphaliner. This resumption will enhance Evergreen's existing Far East-Red Sea service (FRS), which operates in collaboration with Cosco, primarily focusing on northern Red Sea ports. The cessation of the 'REX 3/SRS 2' service in May this year will be mitigated through a new slot agreement with UASC, ensuring continued direct connectivity between the Far East and Southern Red Sea regions.
