Gantry Crane Restoration Achieved After Collision Incident
On December 1, 2023, operations resumed for the gantry crane that was previously struck by the 'CMA CGM Ermitage' during its journey from Bremerhaven. This incident, which occurred on May 10, caused the crane to be forced off its rails when the vessel collided with the Athabaska Quay in Hamburg while making its way from the Tollerort container port. The repair efforts, which began in mid-November, have successfully restored the crane to functionality. This marks a significant milestone as, for the first time since the allision, five container bridges are now operational at the quay, enhancing cargo handling capabilities at this key maritime location.
