In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, vessels are now rerouting from Ningbo to Shanghai after the Ningbo Meishan Island International Container Terminal (MSICT) announced a closure on August 11, 2021. Operations ceased at 3 a.m. on August 12, limiting the entry of export containers to a two-day window before the arrival time of vessels. CMA CGM confirmed that cargo operations for its 'CMA CGM Samson' on the PEX3 service and 'CMA CGM Rivoli' on the FAL1 line, which were docked at the terminal, would be paused until further notice. In the meantime, the 'CMA CGM Melisande', also part of the PEX3 service, is now scheduled to port at Shanghai around August 18 or 19 before proceeding to Ningbo, with arrival expected on August 20 or 21. The FAL3 service's 'Kerguelen' will follow a similar revised schedule but will arrive two days earlier. Additionally, vessels such as the 'CMA CGM Centaurus' (Columbus PNW), 'Cosco Venice' (GMXP), and 'Kota Carum' (REX2) will completely bypass Ningbo. Hapag-Lloyd has informed clients of potential delays in their upcoming sailing schedules, with Cosco also announcing omissions for certain ships this week.
