In the early hours of July 5, 2012, a maritime incident occurred in the Kiel Canal involving the 'Team Oman' and the Dutch cargo vessel 'Hydra'. The collision took place at approximately 1:40 a.m. near Breiholz, as 'Team Oman', which was traveling from Karlskrona to Portland, made contact with the 'Hydra', which was en route from Bremen to Muuga. Fortunately, both vessels sustained only minor dents to their hulls, and there were no reported injuries among the crew members. Following the incident, 'Team Oman' docked at Brunsbuettel for inspection around 5 a.m. and resumed its journey by noon. Meanwhile, the 'Hydra' successfully berthed at Scheer Port in Kiel at around 6 a.m., continuing its operations without significant disruption.
