Emergency Medical Evacuation Near Jobourg: Quick Action Saves Crew Member
On September 6, 2015, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the CROSS Jobourg orchestrated a vital rescue mission situated 40 nautical miles west of Jobourg. The vessel 'Cobalt Water,' which was en route from Rotterdam to Aveiro, reported a medical emergency involving a 66-year-old crew member experiencing severe chest pains. Responding swiftly, the maritime medical coordination unit (SCMM) based in Le Havre made the decision to deploy a medical team to assist the affected individual. An EC-225 helicopter from the Maupertus Navy base was dispatched alongside medical personnel from the army medical center in Querqueville.
