Working Conditions Aboard the Constantine

The cargo vessel 'Constantine' remains detained at Antwerp's Delwaide Dock since December 20, 2019, due to unresolved financial issues. The Algerian shipping company CNAN Nord has reportedly defaulted on a payment of 350,000 Euros owed to a Belgian supplier of lubricant oil. In response, the supplier sought legal action to seize the ship as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, the m/v 'Kherrata' (IMO: 9646455) arrived in Antwerp this past Sunday to transfer the cargo originally loaded onto the 'Constantine' for shipment to Algeria. After completing the loading process, the 'Kherrata' departed Antwerp on January 4, heading towards Oran. As the situation remains unresolved, CNAN Nord is incurring a daily fine of 9,000 Euros until the release of the 'Constantine'.

The vessel previously known as JANNES H. is currently receiving extensive refitting at GC Industries NV, located in the Antwerp region of Belgium. Following the completion of renovations, the ship will officially be renamed BBC INDIANA, marking a new chapter in its maritime journey.
